Jools Holland – Friday 7 August
Following the huge success of his shows in 2005 and 2007 when over 5,000 tickets sold in advance, Jools will be on stage with his 17-piece Orchestra and special guests in a concert eagerly anticipated in the area.
The Rhythm & Blues Orchestra has evolved from the initial seeds in 1985 when Jools and his drummer Gilson Lavis began touring as a duo, into a disciplined 17-piece band capable of selling out all year all over Britain and Europe – from Canterbury Cathedral and Kew Gardens to the Glastonbury Festival – and filling the Albert Hall each Christmas in what has become an annual ritual.
Advance ticket cost £32.50 with a discount for children ages 5-15 at £15. Under 5 years are free with no ticket required.

Spitfire Proms – Saturday 8 August

The evening begins in magnificent style with an aerial display to music by the Mark IX ‘The Kent’ Spitfire as The English National Orchestra, conducted by the enthusiastic Jae Alexander, takes centre stage together with soprano Janet Mooney and Welsh tenor Wynne Evans.
Together they will perform a selection of the best loved arias ever written alongside more traditional proms favourites and themes from the movies. As ever, the evening will end with a fabulous flag waving firework finale to accompany Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.
Advance adult: £27.50 with a discount for children (ages 5-15) at £10.00 Under 5 years are free with no ticket required.
Chris Bailey, event manager from IML Concerts, said, “IML has been presenting shows at Stonor Park since 2005 and each time we have been thrilled with the response from the people of Henley and Oxfordshire. We hope that they will again join us in 2009 for a weekend of musical indulgence.”
The gates open each night at 5pm and the programme commences from 7.30pm. Stonor Park is a beautiful location in which to enjoy a picnic with the family and friends before losing yourself in the atmosphere of the music and spectacle.
