WIN A COOKERY COURSE WITH THE HENLEY COOKERY SCHOOL!
Great food is a source of life and vitality, sharing and generosity. So says Belinda Hill, founder of Stirring Stuff, The Henley Cookery School. Belinda aims to inspire us all to cook, to discover new ingredients and cuisines, and – above all – to enjoy the experience of cooking.
Stirring Stuff is a small, eclectic cookery school, set in rural countryside just outside Henley on Thames. They offer an exciting range of classes from the simple to the exotic – for the beginner to the eager foodie.
Belinda taught professional cookery for a number of years before setting up Stirring Stuff in 2005. Her small, hands-on classes allow students to maximise their learning and instil confidence.
“We use the very best ingredients and seek out authentic produce for our worldwide cuisine courses,” says Belinda. Particularly popular are the ‘cook and dine’ evenings, where participants bring their friends and family or come alone to meet like-minded people and enjoy a learning and social experience. Belinda continues, “We use exotic spices and unfamiliar ingredients to produce a memorable meal. It’s fun, it’s creative and it’s motivational.”
Stirring Stuff also offers men-only classes, where novice cooks can try out new skills in a safe, nurturing environment and take home the cooked dishes at the end of the day. The schoool’s professional, friendly and non-intimidating approach is one of the things that past and present cookery students value most.
Belinda says, “I passionately believe that cooking – and the shared experience of eating – brings people together and that health-giving, home cooked food is no less than our birthright. It is my mission to enthuse and enable people to share this belief, which will result in a healthier nation!”
